WALNUT CREEK
As a Walnut Creek resident, I'm excited to tell you all about the town that I have grown to love! It has it all--shopping, dining, entertainment, employment, quality schools, open space, trails, deer, turkeys and so much more.
Did you know that Walnut Creek once had an island in the middle of town? Did you know that La Fogata restaurant is the location of the oldest commercial building in Walnut Creek?

Walnut Creek is rich in history and its varied neighborhoods give our community a small-town feel. My wife, Dianne, serves as a docent for Walnut Creek's downtown history tours and teaches third graders about our community. Enjoy the Walnut Parade and festival which celebrates the agricultural roots of our hometown. And with more dedicated open space than any other California city, outdoor enthusiasts are sure to love Walnut Creek.
As the business and entertainment hub for neighboring cities within central Contra Costa County, the city of Walnut Creek provides residents with a rich assortment of amenities that range from shopping centers and farmers markets to great schools and parks. Healthcare and biotechnology lead the economy in Walnut Creek, but the city has a strong collection of small businesses. Walnut Creek earned a spot on our Top 10 Foodie Cities list for its Art and Wine Festival and diverse restaurants. Art galleries, live entertainment and the Gardens at Heather Farm are other top attractions.
