BENICIA
We were fortunate to live in Benicia for more than a decade and we raised our family in this spectacular waterfront community. It is truly a hidden gem of the Bay Area. With easy access to BART and the ferry system, Benicia is an attractive city for an easy commute. But it's so much more than that!
Benicia boasts a charming downtown, homey festivals and parades, gorgeous parks, great schools and inspiring water views. It is a city rich with history--it served as the state capital for nearly thirteen months from 1853 to 1854. Take a drive down First Street and see for yourself!

One House Bakery on First Street is a Bay Area phenomenon. Stop by and grab a delicious pastry (the raspberry roulade is particularly terrific or grab a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup for a perfect lunch). Drive down to the end of First Street and stroll along the dock on the Carquinez Strait while enjoying your pastry for an instant pick-me-up. It's a spectacular town with so much to offer.
