Everyone needs that “go to” sugar cookie recipe. You know what I mean. It’s a sugar cookie that holds its cookie-cutter shape when you cut it but is soft, buttery and irresistible!

Here at Gamblnteam, we use this recipe year-round! Imagine heart-shaped valentine cookies, Easter egg cookies, Mother’s Day flower cookies, Father’s day tie cookies. (Wait, is that a thing?)

Regardless, you get the idea. Please enjoy this perfect recipe with our compliments:

Amanda’s Sugar Cookies

1-1/2 cups sugar

2/3 cup butter

2 eggs

2 tbs milk or cream

1 tsp vanilla

3-1/4 cups flour

2-1/2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

Cream sugar and butter until fluffy; add egg, vanilla and milk. Beat until smooth. Sift dry ingredients (I just use a whisk) and add to wet mixture gradually. Mix only until combined. Chill batter for a few minutes, then roll and cut. Refrigerate cookies on sheet for a couple of hours. Bake at 375 for 6-8 minutes. Check early! They are best taken from the oven when just barely starting to brown. Enjoy!
